Why I Believe Bodyweight Training Is Best!!!!

Why I believe bodyweight training is best!!!!

& is it better than weightlifting or weight machines? In my opinion, hell yes!

First of all, resistance is resistance! Whether that’s your bodyweight, barbell or carrying a baby! External resistance or internal resistance is still resistance and will both make you stronger 🙂

One of the obvious reasons why I prefer bodyweight training – well, you won’t need a gym membership and you can workout at home, anytime, as much as you want, even naked if you wish! 🙂

However, if you want to get HUGE and simply LOVE lifting heavy weights… then keep lifting…

I am not saying weights make you bulky, no I DO NOT believe in that myth & neither should you… but lifting heavy is not the only way to build strength, muscles, and good sculpted body.

One thing many people don’t realize is that success in the gym is all about weight training rather than weightlifting. The goal is not to see how much weight you can lift, but to use resistance training to develop, shape and sculpt the various muscles of the body. When you do this kind of training you also get stronger.

There is a huge difference between, weightlifter and bodybuilder!

A bodybuilder sculpts to have every muscle stand out and a weightlifter endeavours to have a large ego as well as large muscles!

Okay, back to why I think body training is the best & if you worry that you might be missing out on something if you do NOT lift weights… then let me assure you wont 🙂

  • Bodyweight exercises are extremely convenient and effective.
  • You don’t need any equipment or gym subscription, since you’ll be using your own body as your resistance.
  • They’re so simple & it’s easy to prevent injuries.
  • Bodyweight exercises are also incredibly easy to modify to your ability level.
  • They also allow you to develop better control and awareness.

& trust me you can you can build a great physique using nothing else but bodyweight exercises.

Many people have…

MY 5 top reasons why Bodyweight Training Is the Best:

  1. It can combine cardio and strength training

Performing quick cardio sessions (such as 60 seconds of burpees or high-knees) between strength movements (such as a set of push-ups or lunges) will keep the heart pumping while still encouraging muscle and strength development.

  1. You can burn fat fast!

Just a few minutes of a bodyweight circuit training can have a major impact on the body’s metabolism. If you’ve ever heard of the after burn effect, you know that even when your workout is over, your body can still be revved for hours to come.

  1. You’ll gain core strength.

Your core is more than just six-pack abs. In fact, at least twenty-nine muscles make up the trunk of the body, and many simple bodyweight movements can be used to engage all of them. Such exercises won’t just give you tighter abs, you’ll also gain better posture, relieve lower back stress, and improve overall performance.

  1. It can increase your flexibility

Not everyone who does regular resistance training has to end up with tight muscles and inflexible joints. Bodyweight training can go hand-in-hand with building strength and flexibility. Completing bodyweight exercises through a full range of motion ensures your joints are moving freely. Plus, it can lead to improved posture and might reduce the chance of exercise-related injury. Yoga, the fave no-equipment workout for many, is another great way to improve flexibility while also significantly improving strength.

  1. You’ll achieve better balance.

When it comes to this type of training, sometimes increasing resistance means increasing balance, too. For example, a normal squat can be ramped up by swapping in a single-leg squat (a.k.a. a pistol squat). Functional movements like that one can improve balance through increased body awareness and control.

Myth: “It’s not possible to build muscle/strength with bodyweight exercises.”

Truth: It’s definitely possible! If there’s a will, there’s a way. You simply need to increase the load/speed (by using leverage or working more quickly) to build strength. Increase the volume and up your calories to build size.

Now, why I am not a huge fan of weight lifting and weight machines….

  • Weight Machines can’t deliver the kind of full-body results you can get with bodyweight exercises.
  • They will typically isolate one muscle group, which is potentially dangerous as your strength builds up.
  • Weight Machines also provide a specific range of motion and restrict your movements to avoid bad form.

Not a fan, but I do think they would be great for rehabilitation exercises 🙂

Personally, for me I rather bodyweight train and not have to be tied to a gym membership for the rest of my life (in order to keep them gains!)

I also rather not have to put on pressure on my joints & bones, instead I rather work and build body strength doing yoga and using resistance bands 🙂

It also depends what kind of body you are trying to achieve ….

& personally I think this is more impressive (being able to lift your own body weight, being super flexible and simply strong)…

Than simply just lifting heavy for the sake of building big muscles…
